Privacy
We built MigraineWatch so that we know as little about you as possible.
- No accounts, no e-mail, no names.
- Your IP address is never stored. To enforce one report per day we keep a one-way, daily-salted hash for at most 48 hours. It cannot be reversed and cannot link your reports across days.
- Location is rounded to a 0.1° grid (~11 km) before it is saved. By default we estimate your area from your connection and show it to you so you can change it; town search runs on our own server (GeoNames data) and GPS is only used if you press the button.
- Time of onset is rounded to the hour.
- Age and sex are optional and stored only as ranges. To save you clicks next time, your last choice is remembered in your own browser, never on our server.
- We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and a few anonymous events (e.g. “report sent”). It sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses or personal data. Theme and language preferences stay in your browser.
- Map geometry is served from our own server - loading the map does not contact third parties.
- If you turn on the experimental weather alerts, we store only your browser's push address, your area rounded to about 100 km, your time zone and language. Turning alerts off deletes all of it.
Because reports are not linked to you, we cannot identify or delete a specific report. If you think you submitted something by mistake, contact us with the approximate time and place.
